Job summary

Cajon Valley Union School District seeks a qualified school bus driver to transport students on assigned routes from its El Cajon area campuses. The role requires operating a standard school bus and a special needs vehicle under supervision, ensuring safe, secure transport for all students.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid California Class B driver’s license.
• Medical certificate required.
• First Aid certificate required or pass CHP First Aid Test.
• California Special Driver certificate issued by CHP required.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus to transport students safely to assigned locations on designated routes.
• Drive a special needs vehicle to transport students with physical, medical, educational or emotional needs.
• Load, unload and secure special needs students.
• Perform regular safety inspections of vehicles.

Job description

Positions are split position, minimum of 5.0 hrs per day. Under the supervision of the Transportation Operations Supervisor, drive a school bus to transport students safely and efficiently to an assigned location on a designated route; drive a special needs vehicle and provide safe and secure transportation for students with physical, medical, educational and emotional needs; load, unload and secure special needs students; perform regular safety inspections.

Requirements / Qualifications

• District Application
• Supplemental Application (questions are built in to online application)
• Original copy of current DMV print out (H6)
• A valid Calfornia Class B-P Driver's license
• A valid Medical certificate
• Valid First Aid certificate (or pass the Highway Patrol First Aid Test)
• Valid California Special Driver certificate issue by CHP
