Job summary

Campbell Union High School District is seeking a Bus Driver (8 Hour) to operate district buses on school routes and field trips. The driver will ensure on-time departures and arrivals, maintain student discipline, and perform routine bus maintenance when not driving.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Make daily and weekly written reports on mileage, students transported, and bus condition.
  • Perform general upkeep of the bus when not driving (gas, oil, cleaning).

Primary Responsibilities
  • Drive a bus or other vehicle over designated routes in accordance with prescribed time schedules, picking up and discharging students; transport students and faculty on field trips, community services, and to other school-sponsored events, choosing the best routes and ensuring departures and arrivals are on schedule.
  • Maintain discipline among the students on the bus and at the bus stops, following district policies regarding the disciplining of students and contact with parents and other citizens.
  • Make daily and weekly written reports on mileage, number of students transported, and condition of buses.
  • When not driving, perform general upkeep of the bus, including gas, oil, and washing and cleaning of the inside and outside of the bus or vehicle assigned.

Qualifications
  • Education equivalent to graduation from the twelfth grade.

  • Ability to deal effectively with students and understand and practice transportation safety.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment and extreme caution in operating district vehicles.
