Job summary

STA Family of Companies in New Milford, CT is hiring School Bus Drivers to transport students along established routes with safety as a priority. You will receive support from a local management team and the training needed to perform your job safely and with care, including daily vehicle inspections.

No prior school bus driving experience is required; we provide comprehensive training to help you obtain the necessary CDL and perform your duties confidently.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of verifiable driving history.
• Must have a clean driving record within the last 24-36 months.
• Must have the ability and willingness to obtain a CDL.
• Must successfully complete the company's comprehensive training program.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment background checks.
• Must demonstrate a commitment to safety and the well-being of student passengers.

Responsibilities

• Drive an assigned school bus route, safely picking up and dropping off student passengers at established stops.
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is safe to operate.
• Conduct post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings.
• Clean the bus as necessary to maintain a professional appearance and positive company image.
• When requested or desired, drive field trips, activity trips, and charter runs to transport students and other passengers to and from their destinations.
• Follow all company, school district, and applicable safety policies and procedures.

Job description

As a School Bus Driver, you will have the support of a dedicated local management team and the training needed to perform your job safely and with care. School Bus Drivers are responsible for the safe transportation of students to and from school along established routes, following school bus and bus stop safety standards, and completing daily vehicle inspections.

No prior school bus driving experience is required. We provide comprehensive training to help you obtain the necessary CDL.

Pay Range: $25.20- $32.25 per hour
