Fitzgerald Public Schools is hiring a School Bus Driver to transport students safely to and from school and events at various locations. A valid Michigan CDL with air brake and endorsements is required, along with a clean driving record and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

The 2026-2027 school year offers guaranteed 25+ hours weekly, typically split as morning and afternoon routes (roughly 6:00am–9:00am and 2:00pm–4:30pm).

Competenze

• Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License with air brake classification and Passenger & School Bus Endorsements.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must meet and maintain health requirements of DOT regulations.
• Must meet and maintain Federal DOT drug/alcohol testing requirements.
• Must meet and maintain District/Michigan Department of Education competency levels of driving skills.
• Previous work experience with children of all ages including children with disabilities and the ability to be sensitive to their needs preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to work directly with students in an appropriate and professional manner and to give direction as needed.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outside and drive in inclement weather conditions.
• Ability to sit and drive for extended period of time.
• Ability to walk, bend, stoop and squat as part of daily job duties.
