Job summary

Clio Area Schools seeks a full-time Bus Driver responsible for safe operations for students on school trips and activities. The driver will perform pre-trip checks, maintain records, and transport students as scheduled, with emphasis on safety and student conduct.

Requirements include a high school diploma, Michigan driver license, and ability to obtain a CDL; drug test and background check are mandatory. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have a valid Michigan driver license.
• Have the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Must pass a drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Conducts the pre-check bus routine per Safety Standards and district procedures.
• Completes transportation forms and maintains records per district procedures.
• Submits bus safety, routing, and maintenance reports to district representatives.
• Assists students in mandatory evacuation drills.
• Maintains the assigned bus by cleaning seats, sweeping floors, and washing windows.
• Operates the bus on approved time schedules.
• Instructs riders on proper conduct and safety rules.
• Handles emergencies and irregular requests with good judgment.
• Lifts handicapped students to aid entry and exit.
• Adheres to school policies and master contract.
• Establishes favorable working relationships with staff.
