Job summary

West Stokes High in King, NC seeks a reliable School Bus Driver to transport students on assigned routes with safety as a priority. The role requires pre- and post-trip inspections, adherence to all traffic laws, and maintaining student discipline and bus cleanliness.

The position is full-time with benefits and starts immediately. Applicants must hold a valid NC CDL with school bus endorsement and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and some experience driving large vehicles with some experience in transporting humans preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with school bus certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document inspections.
• Operates the assigned school bus on the route(s) and schedule provided by the Zone Transportation Supervisor.
• Obeys all traffic laws and school bus regulations while operating the school bus.
• Maintains discipline of students on the bus.
• Keeps the school bus clean and free of papers, bottles and wrappers.
• Reports all accidents as required and remains at the scene until released by the transportation supervisor.
• Secures the assigned bus after leaving the vehicle at the conclusion of a run or route.
