Qualifications

• Completion of the Ohio Pre-Service School Bus Driver Training Program.
• Valid CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements.
• Satisfactory pre-employment and ongoing random drug/alcohol tests.
• Ability to assist students with disabilities.
• Ability to cope with stressful traffic and conditions.
• Demonstrates maturity to work with students and families.

Responsibilities

• Operates the bus according to all motor vehicle laws and keeps the business director informed of issues.
• Maintains routes and time schedules; safety is the top priority.
• Transports only authorized passengers to approved stops and updates route sheets.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and reports equipment concerns.
• Assists students with disabilities as needed and monitors behavior.
• Reports accidents, injuries, hazards, and discipline concerns promptly.
