Job summary

Educational Service Center of Central Ohio seeks a Bus Driver to ensure safe transportation for students. The role requires a valid Ohio CDL Class B with school bus endorsements, a high school diploma or GED, and completion of required safety trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CDL Class B with school bus and passenger endorsements is required.
• Attend safety workshops, meetings, and trainings as required by administration.
• Physically qualified as determined by annual physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Observe traffic laws and regulations for student protection.
• Supervise student behavior while passengers and file bus conduct reports.
• Conduct emergency evacuation drills to train students in safety procedures.
• Daily inspection of bus lights, tires, fluids, mirrors, doors and brakes for proper operation.
• Maintain records and prepare reports (passenger counts, fuel sheets, bus defects, etc.).
• Keep assigned bus clean inside and out; ensure safety markings are visible.
• Report to work 30 minutes before scheduled departure, warm up bus, inspect areas.
• Transport only authorized students to authorized stops.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Training.
