Job summary

Castle Rock School District is seeking a School Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school, activities, and events. The role requires a CDL Class B with passenger endorsement, OSPI certification, and completing a fingerprint background check at the employee's expense.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, safety training for passengers, and maintaining a timely schedule while ensuring student safety and discipline. DOT physical and ongoing compliance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team concept.
• Organizational skills and ability to follow through with tasks without direct supervision.
• Positive attitude toward children and families; strong interpersonal skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Criminal history fingerprint clearance through Washington State Patrol and FBI at employee expense.
• Valid Washington State CDL Class B with passenger endorsement (air brake restriction removed) and OSPI bus driver certification.
• Valid First Aid Card.
• Must pass DOT physical as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive school buses and other fleet vehicles on daily and extra routes.
• Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections and report defects.
• Check engine oil/coolant and belts and report deficiencies.
• Drive safely in adverse weather conditions.
• Train passengers in emergency procedures.
• Assist in loading/unloading students, including those with disabilities.
• Maintain passenger safety and discipline and keep to a consistent schedule.
• Maintain a clean driving record per CDL guidelines.
• Report accidents immediately in writing.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
