STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The incumbent will operate a school bus on assigned routes, ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transportation. Responsibilities include supervising students, transporting them for various purposes, performing vehicle maintenance checks, and assisting with other school-related duties as needed.

INDIAN PREFERENCE POLICY:

Preference is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934. Verification Form BIA-4432 must be submitted if claiming Indian Preference. Non-Indian applicants may be considered if no qualified Indian Preference candidates apply.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

High school diploma or GED and a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) are required. Applicants must meet all state and federal CDL requirements and provide a copy of their license with their application.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Background check and suitability determination required.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid CDL.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform physical tasks, including lifting over 50 pounds.
  • Subject to drug testing and having a clean driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Moderate physical effort, including lifting over 50 pounds.
  • Good vision, hearing, and coordination required.
