First Student is hiring a Diesel Technician in Madison to maintain and repair school buses, ensuring safety and reliability for students. The role offers a day shift, full-time schedule, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus, with pay hourly between $25 and $30 depending on experience and ASE certifications.

Qualifications

• 1–5+ years of diesel or automotive maintenance experience.
• Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class B within 60 days.
• Willingness to pursue ASE certification (training and bonuses provided).
• Company-paid training and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety.
• Diagnose and repair brakes, engines, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety/annual inspections.
• Complete work orders accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
