Job summary

First Student in Parkville, MO is hiring a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair school buses for safety and reliability. You will diagnose issues, perform engine tune-ups, brake work, suspensions, drive trains, and preventative maintenance on a day-shift, Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in diesel or automotive maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• CDL Class B training or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
• Possession of a mechanic’s tool set is expected.
• Willingness to participate in ASE certification program.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and perform vehicle maintenance including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, and other repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections; complete work orders accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
