Job summary

First Student is hiring a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair school buses in Scott City, MO. This full-time day-shift position offers competitive pay and benefits, with company-paid ASE testing and CDL Class B training and licensing.

You will diagnose and repair components, perform PMs and inspections, and support mobile emergency repairs as needed, contributing to safety and reliability for students and families in the community.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of diesel or automotive maintenance experience.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair brakes, engines, suspensions, and drivetrains.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days.
  • Willingness to participate in ASE certification program.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Complete work orders accurately and document services.
  • Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
