Job summary

Jackson County Intermediate School District is seeking a Bus Attendant who can also substitute as a bus driver. The role supports students with special needs, assists with seating, behavior management, and safety on routes. You will perform vehicle cleaning, route pre/post inspections, and maintain records.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, an acceptable driving record, and the ability to obtain CDL Class B with endorsements. Training in first aid is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; clean driving record.
• Must obtain and maintain CDL Class B with endorsements.
• Able to pass air brakes test and DOT/physical requirements.
• No more than 6 points on driving record; first aid training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with special needs, including seating and securing wheels.
• Manage student behavior and monitor conduct on the bus.
• Position and lift students as needed; assist with other needs.
• Communicate with students, parents and employees appropriately.
• Clean and disinfect vehicle; perform pre/post-trip duties.
• Substitute for bus driver as needed; assist with routes and inspections.
• Administer first aid and maintain written records.
• Load/unload equipment and ensure on-time attendance.
• Other related duties as assigned.
