Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking a Bus Assistant to support safe transport of children on the school bus and assist with related tasks. The role involves working with the Bus Driver to supervise children, ensure proper seating and release to authorized individuals, and help maintain a clean and organized bus environment.

The position emphasizes safety, communication with parents and staff, and adherence to OCDC procedures for transportation, with opportunities to participate

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bus Driver in supervising children during transportation to ensure safety and proper behavior.
• Help load and unload children safely from the bus following established procedures.
• Ensure children board and exit with the correct authorized person and are released accordingly.
• Keep children seated and buckled in appropriate car seats or seat belts at all times.
• Distribute children’s belongings to the correct caregiver after transport.
• Assist in maintaining vehicle capacity and cleanliness of the bus.
• Participate in transportation safety education activities for children.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation related to transportation.
