Job summary

Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. is seeking a Bus Aide to support safe and engaging transportation for children in its Early Childhood Development program.

You will assist the Bus Driver and Facilities Custodian while ensuring safety and promoting learning during daily rides. The role emphasizes clear communication with children and families, basic computer literacy, and the ability to work with multilingual contexts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CDA preferred.
• At least six months experience with children ages 0-5 preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication; ability to follow through on tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Bus Driver/Facilities Custodian to ensure safety and observe rules while traveling on the school bus.
• Provide educational activities which will complement the children's classroom education.
• Provide clear directives to children regarding conduct and safety on the school bus.
• Promote school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success as it relates to this position.
• Actively supervise children by sight and sound at all times and in all environments, maintaining health and safety regulations.
• Facilitate health practices to keep children safe in the school bus, outdoor and indoor environments.
