Job summary

Applitrack is hiring a Teachers Aide - Transportation (Bus Aide) to support the driver in providing safe student transportation.

Responsibilities include assisting loading/unloading, maintaining discipline, supervising students, reporting concerns, knowing evacuation procedures, and learning routes for substitutes.

This position requires a high school diploma and preferred experience with special needs children; openings at multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of college coursework or passing of ESSA exam as required.
• Prior experience with special needs children desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver in loading and unloading students.
• Know the proper use of safety restraints, wheelchairs and seat belts.
• Maintain student discipline during transit.
• Supervise and assist students in transit; report concerns to the driver and building staff.
• Know the bus evacuation procedures and be physically capable to evacuate students in an emergency.
• Learn the bus route and provide route information for substitutes or new drivers.
• Occupy a seat that provides the best opportunity for student supervision while the bus is in motion.
