Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a full-time Paraprofessional to support students in a school transportation context. You will assist with bus boarding, seating, mobility support, and behavior management in a bright, active environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and patient demeanor are essential.
• Ability to problem solve and stay proactive in a school transportation setting.
• Willingness to connect with children and their parents to ensure safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities in boarding and exiting the bus.
• Ensure all students are seated and secured properly during transit.
• Provide support to students with mobility challenges, including assisting with wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus.
• Communicate effectively with the bus driver and school staff regarding any issues or concerns during transportation.
• Attend to the needs of individual students, including assisting with personal care tasks if necessary.
• Follow established safety protocols and emergency procedures in the event of an incident or emergency on the bus.
• Help out with other tasks in the school when needed.
