Beacon Mobility/Transit Team in Richfield, MN seeks a School Bus Aide to help ensure a safe, comfortable ride for students, including those with mobility challenges. You will assist with boarding, seating, and safety procedures, and communicate with families, drivers, and school staff.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work split shifts (morning and afternoon routes).
• Experience working with children is preferred but not required.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to pass required background checks and pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist students as they board and exit the school bus safely.
• Help maintain a calm, respectful, and secure environment during transportation.
• Support students with special needs and mobility challenges as needed.
• Ensure students are properly seated and following safety procedures.
• Communicate respectfully with students, parents, drivers, and school personnel.
• Monitor student behavior and report concerns when appropriate.
• Assist the driver in responding to emergencies and following established safety procedures.
• Perform pre- and post-route safety checks as directed.
