Qualifications

• Must meet, or be able to meet, Highly Qualified standards as outlined by state and federal guidelines.
• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using email and Microsoft Word to support communication, documentation, and administrative tasks.
• Evidence of current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move 10 to 40 pounds.
• Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent or designee may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Operate standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, and walkie-talkies. Serve as the school receptionist when needed by welcoming visitors, answering calls, and directing inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
• Attend and actively participate in required in-service training sessions to remain current with school procedures, safety protocols, and student support strategies.
• Provide appropriate first aid to students in accordance with school health guidelines and training.
• Unlock and secure gymnasiums and locker rooms as needed, ensuring safe and timely access for students and staff.
• Support students with personal needs, including expressing concerns, locating lost items, and navigating school routines.
• Conduct regular checks of hallways and restrooms to ensure student safety, cleanliness, and appropriate behavior.
• Monitor assigned lunch areas to promote a safe, respectful, and orderly environment during meal periods.
• Provide classroom supervision when teachers require break or release time, maintaining a structured and supportive learning environment.
• Assist in managing student discipline and behavioral needs by reinforcing school expectations and collaborating with staff to support student success.
• Help manage student safety and behavior in outdoor and common areas during arrival and dismissal times.
• Assist administrators and teachers with supervision, event setup, and other logistical support as needed.
• Maintain a workplace free from alcohol and non-prescribed controlled substances in compliance with district policy.
• Comply with all Board policies and applicable federal and state laws, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and applicable nondiscrimination requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee in support of district goals and operational needs.
