Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Behavioral Classroom Technician in Pasadena to support students with behavioral plans and classroom routines. This role focuses on one-to-one or small-group support, documentation, and collaboration with school staff to ensure a safe, productive learning environment.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, CPR certification, and willingness to complete onboarding and trainings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or coursework in Behavioral Studies, Psychology, Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• CPR certification.
• TB test or chest X-ray clearance.
• Health certificate if required by district guidelines.
• Ability to complete Amergis onboarding and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or classroom-based behavioral support to students.
• Assist students with daily classroom activities and routines.
• Support personal care needs, including grooming, toileting, mobility assistance, and mealtime support when needed.
• Implement behavior intervention plans and reinforce positive behaviors.
• Help de-escalate challenging situations while maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Encourage student independence, social development, and academic engagement.
• Accurately document student progress, observations, and incident reports.
• Maintain communication with Amergis staff regarding schedules, assignments, and student needs.
• Adapt to changing classroom environments and district needs as required.
• Perform additional duties supporting student success and well-being.
