Job summary

BUILD, Inc. on Chicago's West Side seeks a dedicated Manager of Violence Prevention Village to lead in-school and after-school services for Pre K–8 students and their households.

You will coordinate VPV staff across two sites, align with school leadership, and ensure data-driven prevention programming that improves behavior, social-emotional outcomes and school engagement. You will supervise staff, manage partnerships with schools and community organizations, monitor program quality, and report

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, youth development or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of management and supervisory experience in a youth or social services program.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in positive youth development.
• Experience with youth and/or public program facilitation and management.
• Ability to pass a criminal record and child abuse/neglect registry check.
• Must have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally.
• Proficient in Windows and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage two sites and provide oversight and management of all VPV staff in assigned site(s).
• Provide direct leadership and supervision to all VPV staff in assigned site(s).
• Support the team to develop and implement effective, responsive and data-driven prevention and intervention program services for all interested youth and household members.
• Coordinate services to maximize impact while minimizing overlap
• Ensure BUILD's VPV services are welcome and understood by all members of the school community, including parents
• Work collaboratively with school administration, partner organizations, parents and school councils to provide BUILD programs and services, including coordinating space and resources sharing with school leadership and staff
• Leverage BUILD's program area managers and directors to support training and development of program staff so they can appropriately engage with the at-risk population.
• Work collaboratively with program staff to plan program activities.
• Stay current with new trends, program content and delivery methods locally and nationally related to in and after school prevention and intervention programming.
• Participate in civic engagement activities that advance the mission of BUILD, Inc.
• Responsible for updates of progress, changes and challenges in programming and making commendations for the needs of the program.
• Support team coordination and integration, building a positive, support and upstream-focused culture
• Perform other duties as assigned.
