Job summary

BUILD, Inc. on Chicago's West Side is seeking a dedicated Manager of Violence Prevention Village to lead in-school and after-school prevention programs for Pre K–8 students and their households.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, youth development or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of management and supervisory experience in a youth or social services program.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in positive youth development.
• Experience with youth and/or public program facilitation and management.
• Ability to pass a criminal record and child abuse/neglect registry check.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally.
• Proficient in Windows and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage two sites and provide oversight and management of all VPV staff in assigned site(s).
• Provide direct leadership and supervision to all VPV staff in assigned site(s).
• Support the team to develop and implement effective, responsive and data-driven prevention and intervention program services.
• Coordinate services to maximize impact while minimizing overlap.
• Ensure VPV services are welcome and understood by all members of the school community, including parents.
• Collaborate with school administration, partner organizations, parents and school councils to provide BUILD programs and services.
• Leverage program area managers and directors to support training and development of staff.
• Stay current with trends and delivery methods in prevention and intervention programming.
