Job summary

Institute for Nonviolence Chicago seeks a Manager of Community Violence Intervention for Back of the Yards & Brighton Park. You will oversee street outreach and victim services, ensuring collaborative operations, data requirements, and strategic violence-reduction implementation with PBMR and local partners.

The role emphasizes leadership, partnership-building, and a deep commitment to nonviolence principles, including Kingian approaches, trauma-informed practices, and equitable program delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, or current student in a relevant program.
• At least two years of experience supervising staff, preferably with justice-system involvement.
• At least five years of experience in Community Violence Intervention or related field.
• Knowledge of drivers of violence in Back of the Yards & Brighton Park.
• Commitment to professional development and trauma‑informed practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee CVI outreach and victim services staff and annual performance evaluations.
• Oversee trainings, team meetings, and staff development.
• Manage staff schedules to ensure fairness and coverage.
• Participate in budgeting discussions and coordinate with finance.
• Lead safety-focused operations and crisis response 24/7 per protocols.
• Support implementation of CVI initiatives and partner collaborations.
• Represent the org with external partners including law enforcement and elected officials.
• Hire and onboard outreach and victim services staff for Back of the Yards & Brighton Park.
