Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) seeks a Violence Interruption Specialist to be a trusted campus presence at Rudsdale High School in Oakland. You will help identify at-risk students, de-escalate conflicts, and support mental health and healing.

Role focuses on building trust across student groups, coordinating with school staff, and creating trauma-informed pathways to safety and learning. Requires a college degree and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• College degree required (social work, psychology, public health, or related field preferred).
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Ability to stay calm and neutral in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of at-risk youth and monitor safety over time.
• Be a visible, trusted presence on campus during school hours.
• Identify at-risk students through engagement and referrals from staff.
• Develop and update individualized safety and mediation plans.
