Job summary

The Kindezi Schools in Atlanta, GA is seeking a School-Based Literacy Coach to support structured literacy aligned with Georgia's literacy act. You will work with principals and teachers to implement grade-appropriate literacy strategies and provide ongoing coaching.

Responsibilities include data reporting, developing school-wide literacy plans for grades 4–8, coordinating professional development with regional coaches, and maintaining organized records of coaching services.

Qualifications

• Valid Georgia Teaching or Service Certificate at level 4 or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or Special Education or a related field.
• Advanced Preparation in Reading/Literacy through Reading Endorsement or Dyslexia Endorsement or IDA-approved program.
• Minimum of 5 years elementary teaching experience including evidence-based word recognition and comprehension instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assist principals and leadership in aligning schoolwide systems to structured literacy.
• Provide regular, user-friendly data reports to districts and stakeholders.
• Support 4–8th grade teachers with literacy plans and monitoring strategies.
• Collaborate with regional literacy coaches to design professional development.
• Lead coaching cycles with teachers, including goal-setting and feedback.
• Provide timely, clear feedback on instructional practice to teachers.
• Meet with principals and teachers to review data and adjust instructional practices.
• Maintain organized documentation of coaching services.
• Demonstrate commitment to student achievement and social-emotional needs.
