Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Speech Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
• South Carolina certification in speech-language pathology or eligibility to obtain.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Minimum of clinical experience in school settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct speech and language therapy to students as outlined in their IEPs.
• Conduct evaluations and assessments of speech, language, and communication skills.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and compliance records.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and goals aligned with student needs and educational standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP meetings, as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support communication goals across environments.
• Support classroom teachers by consulting on strategies to enhance student communication skills.
• Conduct speech and language screenings as required.
• Maintain records of referred, screened, and eligible students.
• Provide in-service education and professional development to staff regarding speech-language topics.
• Coordinate with external agencies and specialists when necessary.
• Demonstrate proficiency in maintaining compliance with IDEA and state regulations.
• Assist in developing and adjusting communication-related accommodations and modifications.
