Job summary

Harrisburg School District seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to diagnose and treat speech and language disorders and provide direct and indirect services to students. You will assess, plan, set goals, and deliver therapeutic interventions to support student development.

The role requires collaboration with teachers, documentation under FERPA, and participation in district meetings and program development to ensure compliant, effective services.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and treat speech and language disorders within a school setting.
• Develop individualized education programs and monitor progress.
• Communicate results to parents and school staff while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain FERPA-compliant records and support language development programs.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and assesses IEPs and collaborates with classroom teachers to support speech and language services.
• Assesses, screens, and evaluates needs of students needing speech evaluation and shares results with parents and staff.
• Attends meetings and staff development programs and participates in interdisciplinary conferences within the District.
• Receives referrals, secures Permission to Evaluate from guardians, and schedules evaluations.
• Uses standardized tests and evidence-based procedures for accurate assessment of speech and language functions.
• Maintains confidential student records, creates lesson plans, and delivers direct or indirect instruction.
• Establishes professional relationships with administrative and school staff and supports language programs.
• Communicates with teachers and parents and contributes to language intervention projects.
• Keeps professional competence through district-provided or self-initiated development.
