Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 24 semester hours in speech-language pathology and/or audiology (with at least 18 hours in speech-language pathology)
• 25 hours of clinical observation and 25 hours of clinical assisting experience
• School experience preferred
• Valid state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist-Assistant
• Knowledge of AAC devices and speech-language pathology equipment
• Ability to instruct and manage student behavior
• Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide individual and group therapy to students per IEP goals
• Evaluate progress and determine readiness for termination of therapy
• Involve and counsel parents in remediation process
• Collaborate with teachers to plan classroom activities to improve communication
• Provide staff development on communication deficits
• Communicate progress to colleagues, students, and parents
• Maintain required reports and ARD/IEP documentation
• Stay current in Special Education law and best practices
• Travel between campuses as needed
• Perform SHARS billing and other assigned duties
