Job summary

Abilities First, Inc. seeks a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist for our Middletown Education Center in Middletown, NY. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to support school-age children across varying abilities, delivering evaluations, program planning, and therapy in an educational setting.

The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm (35 hours/week, 48 weeks/year). Requires Master’s in SLP, NYS licensure, and teacher certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college/university.
• Licensed by NYS Department of Education as a Speech Pathologist.
• New York State teacher certification required.
• Experience with oral motor, dysphagia, and augmentative communication helpful.
• Ability to push/pull students in wheelchairs and lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial evaluations and periodic re-evaluations.
• Plan and implement speech therapy programs.
• Schedule caseload with classroom staff and related services.
• Coordinate with student, counselor/teacher, and case manager.
• Maintain interdisciplinary communications and document per policies.
• Attend team meetings and annual reviews.
• Supervise CFY staff if licensed.
• Maintain treatment sites and provide staff in-services.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and ASHA Code.
