Job summary

Schaumburg Community Consolidated School District 54 seeks a Long Term Substitute Speech-Language Pathologist to assess and support students with communication disorders within our special education program. The role requires collaboration with staff and families to develop IEP goals and provide direct therapy across language, articulation, fluency, voice, and swallowing domains.

The position starts immediately and carries a daily rate of $325.

Qualifications

• Master of Arts or Science in Speech-Language Pathology with IL state approval.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments in collaboration with others to identify students with communication disorders and inform instruction and intervention.
• Complete a report and develop IEP goals and objectives when appropriate.
• Participate in initial evaluations, reevaluations, annual reviews and parent conferences and complete required paperwork.
• Provide therapy to students with a range of communication disorders including language, articulation, fluency, voice/resonance, and swallowing.
• Gather and interpret data about individual students and overall program effectiveness; collaborate with staff, families and administration.
• Provide services to support the instructional program within a school setting.
• Attend continuing education to update knowledge in speech-language pathology.
• Meet federal/state mandates and local policies, including IEP development, Medicaid billing, report writing, and therapy log development.
