Job summary

Constellation Kids in Bridgeport, CT seeks a Contracted Speech Language Pathologist to lead evaluation and therapy for students with identified needs in public schools.

Responsibilities include screening, administering assessments, planning interventions, participating in IEP processes, documenting outcomes, and coordinating with teachers and families. The workday is typically eight hours and may involve travel between school sites.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate core knowledge of speech therapy as it relates to school-based practice.
• Ability to employ sound reasoning to make judgments within the school setting.
• Strong communication with education personnel, families and students.

Responsibilities

• Gathers information needed to evaluate a child by reviewing records and communicating with the school team.
• Administers screenings in school-based settings and determines appropriate recommendations.
• Administers the evaluation process fully and uses appropriate assessment instruments.
• Interprets assessment results to develop or modify intervention plans.
• Plans and implements intervention strategies for a continuum of service delivery models.
• Participates in the IEP process and collaborates with the school team.
• Documents assessment and intervention results accurately and timely.
• Facilitates transition among agencies as service provision changes.
• May supervise Level I/II field work students and mentor newer SLPs.
