Job summary

Providence Public School District is seeking Speech Language Pathologists to screen, evaluate, and provide services for students with articulation, language, voice, and fluency disorders, helping each student reach his or her communication potential.

The role involves administering screenings, writing evaluations, developing goals, implementing IEPs, participating on IEP teams, and collaborating with teachers, families, and other professionals to ensure coordinated therapy and progress.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech language pathology from an accredited college or university.
• PK-12 Speech Language Pathologist certification by RIDE.
• Fully certified or eligible for emergency certification; bilingual candidates preferred; successful completion of pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate and provide services to students with articulation, language, voice and fluency disorders.
• Administer screening procedures, evaluate referred students, report findings to the team.
• Utilize formal and informal measures to evaluate disorders and write clear, objective evaluations.
• Develop behavioral goals for students receiving speech and language remediation.
• Implement and monitor IEPs and regularly schedule speech and language services.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and staff to integrate therapy across settings and modify classroom activities.
