Make a meaningful impact by supporting the mental health and well-being of high school students as a Mental Health Specialist for the upcoming 2025/2026 school year. This contract role focuses on counseling general education students, both individually and in groups, and extends to delivering social-emotional support, professional learning opportunities, and positive behavior programs within educational settings.

You will be based within a dedicated team environment that values swift decision-making, allowing qualified candidates to move quickly through the interview and offer process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling services and social-emotional support to general education high school students
• Document sessions and interventions using SOAP notes and electronic records, predominantly utilizing Google tools
• Deliver professional learning for staff and assist in implementing positive behavior initiatives
• Support classrooms and buildings as needed with additional mental health programming

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree required (client will not consider bachelors level candidates)
• Active and relevant Michigan licensure, such as:
  • Licensed/Limited Licensed Masters Level Psychologist
  • MDE credentialed Masters Level School Psychologist
  • Licensed/Limited Licensed Masters Level Social Worker
  • Licensed/Limited Licensed Masters Level Marriage and Family Therapist
  • Licensed/Limited Licensed Masters Level Professional Counselor
  • Valid School Counselor License, Preliminary, or Temporary School Counselor Credentials (must meet LARA requirements for licensure within 24 months if applicable)
• Proficient with electronic documentation, familiar with SOAP notes, and experienced with Google Workspace
