Job summary

LEARN Academy in Vallejo, CA, is hiring a School-Based Speech Therapist to deliver comprehensive speech-language pathology services in a collaborative educational setting. You will evaluate students, develop and implement IEP-aligned treatment plans, and collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers to promote student success.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practices and LRE alignment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program.
• Pass the Praxis Examination in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Maintain license per ASHA requirements.
• Current CA Licensure and COC or CTC (or willing to obtain).
• Current negative TB skin test or risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' communication abilities.
• Develop and implement speech-language therapy intervention plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate strategies into the educational curriculum.
• Contribute to the IEP process by providing insights on student progress.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in school-based speech and language therapy.
• Provide expertise in assistive technology and communication strategies to support student access to the curriculum.
• Collaborate with the special education team to ensure LRE alignment.
• Mentor and/or supervise assistants or students in the speech and language therapy community.
• Provide trainings to instructional and related service staff.
