Job summary

Commonwealth Community Development Academy in Detroit is seeking a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to support students’ language, speech, voice and fluency objectives within the school.

You will collaborate with staff, schedule interventions, conduct screenings, participate in IEP/504 meetings, document progress, and provide prevention, assessment, and remediation services to help students meet educational goals.

Qualifications

• Approved Michigan speech-language pathologist certified by the state or fully licensed.
• Experience with administering and interpreting tests.
• Ability to interview, consult and counsel with staff, parents and students.
• Ability to present findings clearly to professionals, parents and students.
• Commitment to meeting diverse student needs with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff in planning interventions and teaching strategies.
• Schedule interventions using classroom, consultation, and pull-out models.
• Meet with school personnel to coordinate IEP objectives.
• Maintain records and prepare periodic reports of the program.
• Perform systematic observations and conduct screenings.
• Serve on IEP/504 teams and participate in RTI/SSIT meetings.
• Work with other professionals to support the screening process.
• Adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines.
