Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to identify and address communication disorders in students, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapy services in school settings across multiple sites.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, state licensure, and collaboration with educators, families, and staff to support student success. Travel between school sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Administering speech and language assessments and therapy techniques.
  • Operating specialized equipment used in speech therapy services.
  • Preparing and maintaining detailed records and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Assess students’ communication skills to determine eligibility for services.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and therapy interventions.
  • Provide speech and language therapy services to students individually or in small groups according to IEP goals.
  • Coordinate meetings and evaluation processes including screenings, IEP meetings, and parent conferences.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, physicians, and other professionals regarding student needs and progress.
  • Provide training and guidance to support staff assisting with speech and language therapy services.
  • Instruct students in the use of assistive communication technologies such as augmentative communication devices and FM systems.
  • Interpret medical and evaluation reports to support appropriate treatment planning.
