Job summary

Qualifications

• Hearing Impaired Interpreter certification or ISBE-approved registration.
• Interpreting experience in an educational setting within the last five years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting/transliterating in mainstream classes as assigned.
• Provide interpreting/transliterating for extracurricular activities, parent meetings, conferences and tutoring as needed.
• Provide note taking services for hearing impaired students when necessary.
• Participate in educational team meetings and provide insights on communication strategies.
