Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to provide school-based services to students with physical disabilities, enabling access to the BPS curriculum and safe participation in school and community life.

The role requires a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy and a Massachusetts license. Responsibilities include evaluation, reporting, therapy services, and collaboration with teams per IEP/504 plans.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Massachusetts License to practice Physical Therapy required.
• Experience in school-based or pediatric therapy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation of students referred for therapy using appropriate testing instruments.
• Write reports reflecting test results and observations with clear recommendations.
• Ensure evaluations are performed within state/federal timelines.
• Provide Physical Therapy services to students based on individual needs and IEP/504 plans.
• Deliver services in the least restrictive setting.
• Participate in pre-referral, Team Meeting, and Student Support Team activities.
• Consult with Related Services providers, teachers, and parents to coordinate services.
• Maintain compliant licenses/certifications and renewal requirements.
• Develop and adhere to daily/weekly schedules and share with school principals.
• Maintain therapy notes and attendance records for each child/session.
