Job summary

Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide school-based services one day per week. The role supports students with disabilities under IEPs, delivering direct and consultative therapy in classroom or pull-out settings.

The ideal candidate holds Massachusetts PT licensure with a degree in Physical Therapy and experience with pediatric populations or school settings; familiarity with IDEA and IEP development is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Experience with pediatric populations and/or school settings preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA, special education regulations, and IEP development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct PT services to students per IEPs via push-in and pull-out models.
• Evaluate gross motor skills, mobility, and access; perform evaluations as needed.
• Develop recommendations to support participation and independence at school.
• Collaborate with special education staff, teachers, related service providers, admins and families.
• Participate in IEP Team meetings and contribute to goals and service recommendations.
• Maintain documentation, logs, progress and evaluation reports per regulations.
• Consult with staff on positioning, mobility, adaptive equipment, and strategies.
