Job summary

Acton-Boxborough Regional School District seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide therapeutic interventions for students with various physical and developmental needs in our elementary settings.

The role involves collaborating with OTs/PTs, teachers, and other specialists to implement individualized treatment plans and support students across district campuses. Licensure, pediatric experience, and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts State licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Experience working with children, especially in pediatric settings, preferred.
• Willingness to learn IDEA and Section 504 regulations.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to adapt to frequently changing schedules.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans and intervention strategies as directed by the supervising therapist.
• Assist children with therapeutic exercises, mobility, classroom routines, and sensory processing accommodations.
• Monitor and document treatment sessions, students' responses and progress.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging therapy environment.
• Complete insurance documentation as appropriate.
• Maintain and update caseload and schedule, and document paperwork.
• Review and be familiar with students' IEPs and goals.
• Learn IEP software for access to student information.
• Stay current with best practices through ongoing professional development.
