Job summary

Oakland Human Resources Consortium supports Madison District Public Schools in recruiting an Occupational Therapist to help students develop functional skills for classroom success. The OT will evaluate, intervene, and collaborate with staff, families, and support personnel to boost achievement and independence.

The position requires a Michigan OT license and school-based expertise, with strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed occupational therapist with Michigan credential and school experience.
• Knowledge of school-based OT assessment tools and interventions.
• Understanding of special education laws and compliance.
• Ability to collaborate with students, families, and staff.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct OT evaluations and assessments for referred students.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy goals.
• Provide direct OT services per IEPs.
• Prepare evaluation reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff on progress.
• Suggest adaptive equipment and classroom strategies.
• Attend METs, IEPs, and related meetings.
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions.
• Maintain knowledge of OT practices and educational requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
