Job summary

Cohasset Public Schools seeks an Occupational Therapist for a long-term substitute position at the middle and high schools in Cohasset, MA. This is a part-time role with four days per week following the school schedule, starting Sept 28, 2026 and continuing through Feb 1, 2026.

The candidate will screen, assess, and develop IEPs, provide direct and consultative OT services, and complete required documentation. Experience with school-based OT and assistive technology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Experience in a school setting preferred.
• Experience working with children with special education needs preferred.
• Experience in assessment and development of high quality Individualized Educational Plans preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to meet timelines. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Identify students who require Occupational Therapy in Cohasset Public Schools at the middle and high school level.
• Screening, assessment and development of assessment reports and IEPs for children qualifying for occupational therapy services.
• Provide direct and consultation occupational therapy services to students who have IEPs requiring these services.
• Timely completion of all paperwork, including documentation for IEPs, team meetings, progress reports, billing/logging, and departmental paperwork.
• Be directly responsible to the Director of Student Services.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Student Services.
• Knowledge and understanding of the uses of assistive technology.
• Position is for four days a week following the middle and high school schedule.
