Job summary

ESC of Eastern Ohio Consortium is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive OT services for students in the school environment. You will assess needs, plan interventions, and support participation in daily activities with an emphasis on collaboration with teachers and families.

Responsibilities include teletherapy where needed, development of adaptive equipment, and coordination with related services such as PT and SLP.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice occupational therapy per Ohio board.
• Current professional license from the Ohio Department of Education.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer/tablet tech for communication, documentation, teletherapy, and ETR/IEP.

Responsibilities

• Identify students with physical, sensory, and perceptual deficits using standardized tests and observations.
• Recommend children for occupational therapy and provide treatment to improve independence in daily living.
• Participate in evaluation teams and educational planning committees with a team approach.
• Assist students in transferring skills to classroom, work, and home settings; may conduct home visits.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness through observation and communication with teachers and families.
• Design adaptive equipment and devices for students and classrooms.
• Provide teletherapy services for evaluations and treatment in remote learning.
• Train school personnel and families in procedures not requiring formal OT programs.
