School-Based Occupational Therapist – Teletherapy

Job summary

TrulyHired in Ohio seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide school-based OT services, including assessment, therapeutic interventions, and support to help students access and participate in the school environment.

You will collaborate with educators, families, and other therapists, develop IEP/ETR goals, and assist with adaptive equipment, teletherapy, and progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Current OT license in Ohio per the Ohio OT, PT, and Athletic Trainers Board.
• Ohio Department of Education professional license.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to promote positive internal and external customer relations.
• Proficient with computers/tablets for communication, documentation, teletherapy, and ETR/IEP development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and related software/programs.
• Other tasks as approved by the Governing Board.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying students with deficits using standardized tests and observations.
• Recommend students for OT services and provide treatment to improve sensory-motor functioning.
• Participate in evaluation teams and educational planning/placement committees.
• Support transfer of skills to classroom, work, and home; conduct home visits as needed.
• Provide teletherapy in remote learning environments; document therapy notes and Medicaid billing.
• Maintain all required reports and records; coordinate with supervisors and coordinators.
• Provide in-service training to staff on student diagnoses and disability.
• Liaise with Mahoning County Special Education Program and related agencies.
• Consult with parents and school staff on student progress in therapy.
• Collaborate with PT, SLP, and teachers to meet joint goals.
• Develop adaptive equipment/assistive devices for seating/positioning.
• Maintain time documentation in SDE, Medicaid, and therapy logs.
• Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
