Anne Arundel County Public Schools is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide school-based OT within Anne Arundel County Public Schools. The role focuses on enabling student access to education, delivering direct services, and supporting functional independence in the learning environment.

The OT works with students, staff, and families, maintaining compliance with policies, and may supervise paraprofessionals as needed while managing a defined caseload and contributing to student IEPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university.
• School-based occupational therapy experience required.
• Knowledge of the special education process and curricula of the schools in Anne Arundel County.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, community agencies and the public.
• Punctual, regular and predictable attendance is essential.

Responsabilités

• Selects and administers appropriate assessment tools to evaluate students' functional abilities and needs in relevant educational environments.
• Interprets and reports results of assessments verbally and in writing to all stakeholders through the IEP team process.
• Collaborates with the school team in the development of student education plans.
• Recommends appropriate service to support the educational plan.
• Develops data collection tools and monitors student progress, reporting regularly on functioning.
• Develops and implements intervention strategies to facilitate student participation.
• Trains students and teams in the use of adaptive materials or equipment.
• Manages a caseload and conveys essential information to colleagues to ensure continuity of services.
