Job summary

ProCare Therapy near Johnston, RI seeks a contract Occupational Therapist to support a student with specialized needs in a school-based setting. You will provide one-hour weekly OT sessions tailored to the student’s immunocompromised condition, aiming to promote participation in academics and daily routines.

Required are a valid OT license for school-based practice, experience in school or healthcare settings, and a commitment to confidentiality. Vaccination is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapy license for school-based practice.
• Experience in school, home health, or healthcare environments.
• Experience with students with unique medical needs is a plus.
• Strong communication, professionalism, confidentiality and ethics.
• Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high-quality, individualized 1-hour occupational therapy session each week, focused on supporting student growth and participation in academic and personal routines.
• Assess and document student progress, adjusting interventions to best meet identified goals.
• Collaborate with educational teams and family to maintain continuity of care and facilitate optimal student outcomes.
• Implement evidence-based practices and adapt therapy activities to the home or school environment as required.
• Ensure all professional standards, documentation, and ethical guidelines are consistently met.
