Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to provide therapeutic intervention for youths and families in school settings within Montgomery County Public Schools. This is a school-based position working with elementary, middle or high school students.

You will join a team of clinicians delivering individual, family and group therapy, with supervision and ongoing professional development in a community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed in Maryland or eligible for licensure (LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, LCPC, LGMFT, LCMFT or Psych Associate).
• Knowledge of evidence-based treatment models such as CBT, DBT, and family therapy.

Responsibilities

• Perform bio-psycho-social assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Provide individual, family and group counseling to a caseload of 19–21.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed to youth.
• Lead psycho-educational and therapy groups with children, teens and parents.
• Collaborate with educators, school staff and community providers.
