Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin is hiring school-based Mental Health Therapists to work in Madison, Verona and Middleton-Cross Plains Area School Districts, with location determined through interview. The role involves trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy with children and families in school-based clinics and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities include individual, group, and family therapy, treatment planning, and community outreach to support MBH strategies.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field and 3000 hours post Master’s experience
• Experience working with children and families in a school or integrated health care setting
• Therapists in Training considered with 3,000 hours towards licensure

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses and treats children with mental health/emotional challenges through individual, group, and/or family therapy modalities.
• Engages the child, family and educational team in an integrated, individualized treatment plan and ongoing care.
• Introduces SBMH services to families to reduce stigma and foster engagement.
• Consults with families, educators and care team on client progress, behaviors, support needs and interventions.
• May provide individual classroom consultation or speak at school assemblies to support student wellness.
• Collaborates with school partners to develop internal referral pathways and care triage.
• Collects data points for reports and participates in program projects.
• Participates in school related events and community engagement to support Children’s mission and MBH strategy.
• May supervise training of graduate students/interns.
