Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Professional (LCSW-C or LCPC) to join our full-time school-based team in Frederick, MD. This role provides essential mental health services to students, helping them develop emotional, behavioral, and social skills for academic success.

You will collaborate with students, families, educators, and school support teams to address mental health concerns, implement interventions, and promote positive outcomes in a supportive educational

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
• Active Maryland LCSW-C or LCPC license required.
• Experience with children, adolescents, and families preferred.
• School-based, pediatric, community mental health, or behavioral health experience preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, crisis intervention, and SEL.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family-focused mental health support as appropriate.
• Conduct assessments and identify student mental health and behavioral needs.
• Develop and implement intervention plans to support student well-being and success.
• Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, and behavioral support services as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to address student needs.
• Support social-emotional learning initiatives and positive behavioral interventions.
• Participate in student support meetings, IEP meetings, 504 meetings, and other educational planning processes as needed.
• Connect students and families with community resources and support services.
• Maintain timely documentation, case notes, and compliance records.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
